Ami's Story is part of a six short animated films collection based on real life testimonies of young people of colour on their personal experiences of racism.  The series was created for BBC Education and SWR in Germany in a bid to tackle race-hate in schools.
In this short animated film Ami talks about how negative experiences with the police and her school made her feel angry and unsafe, putting her on a rebellious path.
I worked as an animator under the direction of Dom Elsey based on designs that were consistent throughout the entire collection. The above clip is is a longer excerpt consisting of shots that I was mainly responsible for but please check the entire series here.
